Right Human Relations

What Are Right Human Relations?

Right human relations is goodwill in action on all levels of human interaction: interpersonal, family, group to group, community to community, and nation to nation.  It is love expressed through human interaction with all other kingdoms of nature – animal, plant, and mineral.  Right human relations is the expression of the Love of God as it works out through humanity on all of these levels of relationship. 

There is a basic formula for the use of the energy of goodwill which will lead to right human relations.

1.  The energy of goodwill is called into a situation.

2.  This energy of goodwill will then produce a sense of a next step - this will create a crisis of deci­sion.

3.  When this sense of the next step, inspired by goodwill is taken - this practical action taken  along right lines will produce right relationship. 

Goodwill will always be the initiating factor in the development of right relationships -- right human rela­tions.  Once the energy of goodwill has been received by a person, a group, a nation or humanity as a whole, the receiver of this energy is then faced with a crisis of decision.  Will they allow the sensed goodwill to express itself?  How will they choose? 

This point of crisis is the focus of the fourth stanza of the Great Invocation.  In it we are asking that humanity makes the higher choice by choosing to let the plan of love and light work out through the human race.  By so choosing humanity will “seal the door where evil dwells”.  This will not be accomplished by hopeful dreams or by fervently wishing it to be so or even by the use of the Great Invocation itself.  It will come about through the right action of humanity as a result of the decision to act through goodwill. 

The use of the Great Invocation invokes divine spiritual aid for humanity.  Unfortunately this aid isn't usually as obvious as a bolt of lightning. It may come in a more subtle form, such as a clarification in thought of the right path to take; of the sense of what is, for us, our rightful next step.  We are invoking aid for humanity in making this decision, but the perception of the needed next step must then evoke the response of a definite action to make these things happen.  We must leave behind the idea that divine aid will mean someone taking responsibility for us so that we don't have to do anything.  Providence will always be there to help us along our way, but, in the end, it is we who must ACT.  These actions, inspired by goodwill, will always take the form of right human relations.  When we decide to act with love in all of our relations, then divine aid will truly be at our disposal. 

The destiny of mankind is to express the Love of God through establishing right relations throughout the world, within all of the kingdoms of nature and in harmony with the Will of God.  Now that you have heard the note of goodwill - how will you choose? 

Let us resolve to take the first step in answering our prayers for world unity by projecting an attitude of goodwill into the environment of our friends and daily contacts - transforming these relationships through the divine power of right human relations.  Let us choose to be an expression of the Love of God to all that we meet.  Let us resolve to take practical action based upon our decision to express goodwill in the world.  Let us realize that God’s answers to our prayers often come as a sense of our next step to take. 

We must take the first step to establishing right human relations.  It is the practical use of the energy of good­will in all of our interactions, and our willingness to take right action as a result that will bring about a world characterized by right human relations.  By this practical work we will be preparing the hearts and minds of humanity for the return of the Coming One.  The choice is ours.  Let us choose to act out of goodwill, with right human relations, and establish love as the keynote of all of our relationships.

From the Point of Light within the Mind of God, let Light stream forth into human minds, let Light descend on Earth.   From the Point of Love within the Heart of God, let Love stream forth into human hearts, may the Coming One return to Earth.  From the center where the Will of God is known, let Purpose guide all little human wills, the Purpose which the Masters know and serve.  From the center which we call the human race, let the Plan of Love, and Light work out, and may it seal the door where evil dwells.  Let Light, and Love, and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
